Over rolling hills and vibrant farm lands to the east of Devonport, a vineyard sits perched on the hillside overlooking the beaches of Narawntapu National Park. Driving to the winery you’ll be greeted by plenty of vineyards covering the hill side, an abundance of cool climate vine varieties.
All About the Wine
The cellar door and restaurant is placed centrally amongst their cool climate grape varieties and the views across the grounds (and Bass Strait) are abundant.
Ghost Rock Wines is a second generation wine family (correction: third generation, but next generation are too young to taste wine!) and their families have farmed these lands for generations before them. The Arnold family produce wines that are estate grown, vinified and bottled on site. Their creativity, approach to wine-making and viticulture has found them a signature quality across their portfolio - recognised with numerous awards - of cool climate wines.
If you’re intriged by the winery’s style of crafting, fermenting and ageing process, Justin (the winemaker) offers guided tours. Or just hang out in the cellar door with a wine tasting and platter full of gourmet Tasmanian produce. Whatever takes your fancy, you’ll probably find yourself in good company, enjoying great views and most importantly, have a delicious wine in hand.
